Announcement from Microgaming
Microgaming is making changes in both it online bingo and its online casino operations. It announced earlier this week that it would not accept online players at any sites using its online bingo or casino software.
The company has expanded that ban to include a ban on progressive slot machine games and flash software games for U.S. players. They made this announcement to marketing affiliates in the Brightshare program. This includes the popular Jackpot Factory group.
The ban is to become effective immediately. The block on Flash games and progressive jackpot games begins today, Wednesday, November 12. The block will not be implemented at play for fun sites, only at real money sites.
Some US players have been notified by email from the marketing affiliates. Some online casino sites like Grand Prive are planning to exit from the US market on December 1. Another, Doyle’s Poker Room, is quitting Microgaming software. They were notified that Microgaming would not accept new US players but would continue to service the existing US players. Doyle’s will quit Microgaming and find a software manufacturer whose views are consistent with their own. They will announce the new software developer as soon as they conclude a deal with one.
Microgaming implemented the ban on US players due to legal concerns. Most licensing groups feel that the ban will soon be expanded to include all US players.
