Playtech Enters into Italian Deal

Gaming software company Playtech has entered into a deal with gaming giant Cogetech of Italy.  Playtech, which operates several poker rooms in Italy, is expanding its presence in the country.

The company already has several licenses for the activity in Italy and Cogetech provides sports betting activities in the country.  A Playtech spokesperson sees this move as proof of the company’s commitment to expand its presence in Italy and in other European markets.

Cogetech says that they chose Playtech over other software providers because of their existing strong poker network and the fact that the company already has some existing sites in Italy.

It is hoped that Playtech will expand into other areas in Italy which is one of their goals.  They are already a leading supplier of online casino software.  Playtech already has a marketing objective of expanding into the various European markets as they open and this move is a step in the rights direction for the company.

The big gaming companies are currently challenging the state run monopolies in many of the European countries.  They want to enter those markets because of the lucrative opportunities that exist and because of the interest from residents in those countries.
