Actions by eCOGRA

The e-Commerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) is the independent online casino and gaming watchdog authority. It is the non-profit organization that basically sets the standards for online casinos and gaming, player protection and responsible operator conduct. Casinos and online establishment that meet its standards carry its seal. This seal always indicated to players that the casino was “safe”.

eCOGRA has suspended the use of the seal from six casino belonging to the Kahnawake Casino Action . The six casinos, according to Gaming Intelligence, are Big Casino, Challenge, Golden Reef, Music Hall, Nostalgia and UK Casino Club. None of these casinos is listed in the eCOGRA list of approved casinos. The online watchdog agency has also revoked their certificate from Arctic Poker. The certificate was allowed to expire beyond its renewal date is the reason given for this action.

The details given for why the casinos lost their right to display the eCOGRA seal are that they failed to comply with all of the Generally Accepted Practices, listed by eCOGRA, as part of the review. Accredited sites are subject to continual monitoring by the online agency which was reviewing the six sites as part of their normal seal review process. The Generally Accepted Practices are listed on the eCOGRA website and cover the areas of Player Protection, Fair Gaming, and Responsible Conduct in addition to several Addendums on Foreign Languages and Currencies, Transferred Casinos, News Casinos, Mobile Casinos and Multiplayer Casinos. No further details were given regarding the suspension of the seals.
